Bulk-billing

 

Bulk-billing refers to when a clinic will directly bill the cost of your consultation directly to Medicare, without the patient needing to pay anything out-of-pocket.

 

Toowong Gp Super Clinic offers bulk-billed standard appointments, during the week, with the following doctors:

 

•Dr Upul Mahawattha

•Dr Jun Xue

 

To be eligible for a bulk-billed standard appointment, with the above mentioned doctors, the patient needs to hold a current:

•Medicare card

•DVA card

•Pensioners concession card

•Healthcare card

•Commonwealth seniors’ health card

 

Mental Health Care Plans, Team Care Arrangements and GP Management Plans are eligible to be bulk-billed.

 

Long Appointments

Long appointments are required if you need to cover more than one issue within your appointment.

 

Long appointment will incur a $50 out-of-pocket fee.

You will be required to pay the total cost of the appointment up-front, which is $130.10, then the rebate of $80.10 will be put either back on the card, or back into the account nominated with Medicare.

 

Long appointments are bulk-billed, if you have booked it to have the following done;

•Mental Health Care Plans

-GP Management Plans

•Team Care Arrangements

Procedures that require a longer appointment time will incur other fees.

Mixed-Billing

 

Mixed-billing refers to when an appointment may incur an out-of-pocket expense once the appointment has finished.

Bulk-billing is still available with our mixed-billing doctors as long as they fit within at least one of the following conditions:

• Is under the age of 16 years old

OR   have a current:

• DVA card

• Pensioners concession card

• Healthcare card

• Commonwealth seniors’ health card

 

Have booked to get the following completed:

• Mental Health Care Plan

• Team Care Arrangements

• GP Management Plans

Toowong GP Super Clinic does not bulk-bill completely on the weekends. On Saturday, we are fully private billing, which means that every appointment will incur a fee.

Toowong GP Super Clinic does not directly bill to insurance companies. If you do not have a current Medicare card, you will need to pay for your consultation up-front, after the appointment has finished.

Each procedure incurs a fee, depending on the doctor, please discuss with the doctor what the estimated amount will be.

SKIN RELATED APPOINTMENTS with Dr Colin McTari

​

Dr Colin McTari specialises in skin. As such, skin checks and any consultation relating to skin, will incur a gap fee of $80 (for Medicare patients).The total cost of the appointment will be $121.40. Skin-related consults are not eligible to be bulk-billed.
